Engagement

You’ve have heard the phrase, “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, right? It’s such a common saying and one that Rachel and James prove is true. They met in Physics class their Freshman year at Notre Dame. Rachel spotted him on the first day and thought he was cute! Each class she moved closer and closer to him until she eventually was sitting right next to him. She chatted with him and asked him to “help” her with homework. He had no clue she was just flirting with him. He didn’t catch on until she invited him over to her house for Easter. Eventually James asked Rachel on a date and their relationship took off from there.

Throughout most of their relationship, they were long distance. Together when they were both at Notre Dame, but the summers and times when they were studying abroad, put distance between them. They both agreed that the distance made them grow closer and stronger as a couple. They just couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. There is something so special about long distance relationships. You are forced to make time to call each other and have meaningful conversations. You count down the days until you see each other. Then when you do, every moment spent together feels so special. It gives you the honeymoon phase of your relationship over and over again.

Their June Wedding at The Basilica and Dahnke Ballroom is going to be just amazing and I am so excited to be working with these two. From our very first meeting, I knew their wedding day was going to be full of joy and love. And I knew I wanted to be a part of that. They are so much fun, light hearted, full of love for each other and those around them. I honestly CAN’T WAIT!
