I'M CAT ALKIRE

I'm so glad you're here!

wedding photographer in south bend

I believe in the real moments that need to be captured so you can remember them forever. In the kinds of images that remind you that joy can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in capturing images that can be placed in frames and hung on the walls to share with future generations. And most importantly, I believe in the power of marriage and love.

I have a 4 year old daughter named Grey and a 2 year old son named Nash! I love being able to capture your forever moments from the beginning at your wedding day to the days of growing your family! It's truly an honor to be such a part in making memories for you to keep.

Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them.

Even with it's ups and downs, your life, your story, are beautiful and I can't wait to create images to show that!

My love for photography has allowed me to witness some amazing love stories on wedding days. It has allowed me to give my clients images they can pass on for generations. It has allowed me to capture memories with loved ones that are no longer here. And it has allowed me to turn clients into beautiful friendships that I will always cherish! It would be a dream for me to be able to share my gift with you and I would be honored to be apart of your best day ever!

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Heirloom Details

I absolutely love family heirlooms. I love the meaning behind them, I love that they live on long after you. My favorite will always be the ring that is passed down from mom or grandma. It's truly so special!

generational rings

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Family

Family is the most important part of life. I love being able to spend my free time with my family. On Sunday's you can find me eating my mom's lasagna at my sister's home with a bunch of cousins running around with their best friends.

support, unconditional love, best friends

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Jesus

Above all, my life is centered in Christ. God is SO good. On Sunday mornings you can find me and my kids at Gospel City Church (join me)! Which is why I don't take on many Sunday weddings, but I will photograph them occasionally!

I should have said this first..

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Being Creative

If there is one thing I know, God made my hands to be creative. I like to use them in all ways to make art. Photographing, calligraphy, painting, pottery, baking cakes and bread, playing guitar, you name it - if it's creative and I can use my hands, I do it!

I was born for it.

the reason why

I do what I do!

I am a sucker for LOVE. I love everything that falling in love brings.  The feelings, the butterflies, the first kiss, the security.  I love being able to hang out with couples in love on the day they commit themselves to their best friend forever.  I love capturing all the moments on a wedding day that mean so much to you but in all honesty, I love marriage even more.

Marriage is such an amazing commitment.  And I love it all, the amazing, the every day life, the messy and the hardships.  It is a partnership and a blessing to have the love and support of your best friend for the rest of your life. And I love to be able to create and share those memories with every one of you!

When you're not photographing weddings, where will you be?

Hanging out with my kids, strolling around Target with no shopping list and Starbucks in hand or walking around our neighborhood playground watching Grey and Nash play on the swings and slides.

What is your photographic style?

I am a light and airy wedding photographer who aims to capture timeless, romantic and authentic images on your wedding day. I blend together both a photojournalistic style to capture the natural moments that unfold on a wedding day but also styling and posing when needed.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?

It's probably right after the bride gets her dress on and looks in the mirror. It's then when she realizes that it's actually her wedding day and she's just moments away from spending forever with her best friend. Mom hugs her tight, tears flow all around, it's a perfect moment.

Do you travel for weddings or shoot destination weddings?

Absolutely! Right now I photograph weddings in all of Indiana, Southern Michigan, Chicago, and Cincinnati, but I do travel worldwide for weddings! There might be a travel fee added on to your package depending where your wedding is, so please inquire and I can give you all the details!

I've never planned a wedding before and I have no idea how to create a timeline, or how long I need photo coverage for. Can you help?

Girl, I got you. I create a custom timeline for all our couples at the beginning of the booking process so that you know what to plan for and then we will finalize it a month of so before the wedding!

How many photos do you give back and do I have the rights to print?

On average our couples get 1100 images from their wedding day. This depends on the amount of hours we are there and how detail oriented your wedding is. And yes, you have the rights to print the images and I can give you great recommendations on where to do so!

I can't wait to see our wedding photos, when can I expect them to be finished?

I try to do a sneak peak on Instagram the day after your wedding. Then I do a blog post the week after with around 50 of my favorite images. You will get the link to those as soon as the blog is live to use for thank you cards. You can expect the rest no later than 6-8 weeks after the wedding.

We want to book with you, how can we make that happen?

Yay! I am so excited!  The first part of the process is sending an inquiry and setting up a meeting.  After that, I will send a contract and retainer for you to secure the date. After that I'm all yours and we can start dreaming of your wedding day together! Ready to chat?
