I am so excited to share this wedding! Not only is it seriously gorgeous – but it was so much fun! The entire day was a celebration of Katy and Jamie and their 13 years of dating. Yes 13 years! They met back at good old John Young Middle School but didn’t starting dating until their junior year of high school.

They were in no rush to get married, they wanted to finish college, start their careers and then decide when it was their time to get married. When Jamie knew they were ready he planned out an elaborate proposal. Jamie rented a boat on Lake Michigan in Chicago. He was waiting outside Katy’s office on a dreery, drizzly Tuesday evening when she got off work, and walked her to the harbor. “Captain Chris” then took them on a sunset boat ride where the weather cleared up and the skyline became the perfect backdrop. Jamie acted like he ‘wanted a picture’ which completely gave away what he was about to do, since he NEVER takes pictures. Katy let him think she was completely surprised for the most part. He then organized a surprise dinner with all of our Chicago friends at Katy’s favorite restaurant afterwards. It was perfect!

And the wedding day was stunning! The Palais Royale is a beautiful backdrop and lent itself well to the black, white, pinks and golds that was inspired by the late Kate Spade. The ceremony was short and sweet and sealed with the sweetest kiss and then the party! As soon as it was time for the reception – the dance floor was packed with friends and family gathering to celebrate. And just a warning, I normally don’t put too many photos of the garter and bouquet toss – but Jamie did a perfect rendition of what I hear was a Magic Mike dance (I have never seen it..) but I am told it was spot on by the groom himself.

I am so happy for these two who just sold their condo in Chicago and moved back to the Bend! It was a perfect day and Miles and I felt so honored to be apart of it!
