Weddings

I am so thankful that I have such a strong network of brides and grooms. Ones that love what we do and have loved working with us. This is how Gertha found me and I am so happy she did! I have photographed her brother and her cousin’s weddings and they are among some of my favorite weddings that I have been apart of and some of my favorite people I have come to know! So when Gertha contacted me I knew I wanted to photograph her wedding! Not only did it sound like it was going to be beautiful (and it WAS!!) but I knew I wanted to share what I have shared with so many of her family members and photograph her wedding too.

Gertha and Alex met online, match.com! I can relate, Miles and I met online as well and it’s so great getting to know someone before meeting. I am a big believer that you can find your soulmate online. It connects you to people you never would have met otherwise! They met and hit it off and they knew they were meant to be. When he proposed they went to dinner and then to see Christmas likes at Morton Arboretum. They were surrounded by lights, no crowd, and her son CJ which was extra special! It sounds like something straight out of a movie and so was their wedding!

The ceremony at Willow Creek Community Church was short and sweet and the venue’s grounds are gorgeous! I couldn’t stop taking photos! She chose the colors yellow and coral because Alex really wanted yellow in the wedding and she really wanted coral – so perfect together, even the colors they wanted matched! Then we headed to Belvedere Events where the reception was. It was lit by candles and chandeliers. All of their friends and family gathered around them and shared the excitement for their next chapter. It was so special to be a part of and I can’t wait to share these images!
