Weddings

Ashley and Jordan met in high school, 10 years ago. They met through mutual friends and starting to hang out more and more. The relationship turned into more when Ashley asked Jordan to go to their winter formal together. And as they were dancing to “Amazed” by Lonestar, Jordan asked Ash to be his girlfriend. Ashley couldn’t really hear him and Jordan jokes that it was the longest 3 minutes of his life. But she did say yes and they have been together through college, an after graduation move to Richmond, Virginia and then back closer to home to Chicago in 2017.

Jordan proposed a week before they moved away from Richmond. He planned a surprise date for Ash which is normally an odd thing but she always bugged him about doing cute things so she didn’t think much of it in the moment. Jordan took Ashley to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Virgina which has so many trails, lakes, and flowers around. She loved that he took her there since they both love exploring new places together, especially the outdoors. They walked around the gardens and stopped to sit at a gazebo that overlooked the water. They both sat, cuddled up, in silence for awhile just taking in all the nature and water. Jordan then got up and asked Ashley to take a picture; he stopped a perfect stranger to take their picture. They took a picture as normal and then he got down on one knee and asked her the question she had been waiting so long for.

And their wedding was a true celebration of the love they have for each other and the two families that have been connected for so long. Ashley planned everything perfectly. Her dusty blue garden theme with a smaller wedding party was the perfect low key, non stressful wedding day. We even watched the Notre Dame game as the girls got ready that afternoon. I joked (but was totally serious) that I am so thankful for her because it was the first fall wedding that the bride not only okay’d football being played on her wedding day, but insisted on it! And if you don’t know because you’re living under a rock – I am Gold and Blue through and through! And just before she walked down the aisle she saw the game clock turn to zero for a big Irish victory against Vanderbilt.

I am so excited to share these amazing photos with her. Ashley’s vendors did such an amazing job helping her create the vision she wanted. And The Odyssey Ballroom – can we just take a moment to appreciate that they have WHITE MARBLE DANCE FLOORS?! Take note wedding venues – DO THIS! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your big day Ash and Jordan, we loved EVERY second of it!
