Chelsea and Matt | Journeyman Distillery Wedding, Michigan Wedding Photographer

Uncategorized

Chelsea and Matt’s wedding day was full of so much love, support and rain. Yes, rain. They got married on quite possibly one of the rainiest weekends here in Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan and certainly one of the rainiest days we’ve photographed. But, the rain is just an element of their beautiful day and despite the cloudy skies, everyone was full of so much joy and happiness, you didn’t even notice! We just changed our plans to get some photos in the beautiful Journeyman Distillery.

Chelsea and Matthew officially met the first day of college at the registration tables. He looked over at her and she looked at him, they both felt like they knew the other but did not say anything, yet. Over the course of the first semester Chelsea got to know Matt more through his roommate who was a mutual friend. They quickly became inseparable and spent as much time together as they could until the end of the first school year. Their families took them to a last dinner before they moved back to their separate hometowns, where needless to say, there were so many tears by the end that they ended up riding together half-way before saying “see you later”. That`s when they knew they never wanted to be a part. Their love and relationship grew from there until Matt knew that he wanted to marry Chelsea and had to ask her to be his wife.

Every year for Matt`s birthday their immediate families get together at Arlington Racetrack. They arrive early, race for an outdoor table and everyone brings something to share. In addition to this tradition, Matt and Chelsea take a photo in front of the ivy wall near the area where the horses walk before the race. They have taken a photo in this special spot for as long as we have been together. Chelsea just believed this to be a normal yearly trip – nothing out of the ordinary! They went to take their photo in their usual spot to get that tradition out of the way and then Matt began telling Chelsea all the things he loved about her, about them, and what he hoped for in the future. Before she knew it he was on one knee and asked Chelsea to marry him. The answer was a resounding YES and at that moment she turned to see their families cheering, laughing, crying, and documenting the entire moment. And from then on, they excitedly planned the wedding of their dreams! And I am so excited to share that day with you!
