Marcus and Lea were introduced to each other in 2012 by a mutual friend. Lea was in Ohio and Marcus was living in Colorado. They never expected to build a relationship with such a distance between then. But, over the years they remained friends and kept in contact through social media. In September of 2017 they began to message each other more often eventually having daily communication. Lea went to see Marcus in Colorado and her maid of honor, Jennifer, said it best, when she came back, it was clear that she left her heart in Colorado. Everyone at home knew that they were falling in love but didn’t know where it would go, but, when Marcus came back to Ohio to visit with Lea it was clear to everyone they were just meant to be together and no distance would keep them apart. And they were all taken aback by how well he not only treated Lea, but how much he also loved her daughter, Serafina. And just witnessing the 3 of them together, you can see how much they all love each other.

So Marcus knew he wanted to propose to Lea and he knew that he also wanted to include Serafina. So the three of them went on a short hike in Roxborough State Park south of Denver, CO. It was a beautiful spring day when they arrived at the overlook deck of the park highlighted with large Rocky Mountain red rocks as a back drop. Marcus pulled Lea aside and got on a knee to ask her to marry him. After Lea said YES he also asked Serafina if he could be her daddy and presented her with a charm bracelet. She said also said yes and inquired what else he got her, which if you knew Serafina, you can totally see her saying that. It was a fantastic day for everyone and they soon started planning their fall wedding back home in Southern Ohio.

And the day was perfect. It was an intimate fall day with their closest family and friends. Their ceremony overlooked the Ohio River and they danced the night away with great music underneath the string lights. I am so excited to share their day and I hope you love it as much as we did!
