This past July Megan and Bob celebrated their classic catholic wedding at Notre Dame. It was a joyfully, bright and timeless day. Megan was radiant in her Peter Langer gown and red lip. Bob looked just a dapper in a custom fitted black suit and bow tie, a perfect combination. And they were filled with joy all day long, just happy to be together and be celebrating with their close family and friends.
Megan and Bob met during ACE graduation weekend in 2018. The party was hosted by Megan’s family. Bob’s twin brother Charlie had given Megan Bob’s number. Since they were both moving to New York City and having an acquaintance would be a welcomed comfort. In all the excitement of the weekend and moving to a new city, Megan forgot about the phone number and Charlie’s twin brother Bob.
And as fate would have it, a year later, they reconnected through the wonders of modern technology on the dating app, Hinge. During the beginning of their relationship, they enjoyed New York restaurants and shows. They travelled to their alma maters, Notre Dame and Dartmouth. They met each other’s friends, and spent time with both families. In March 2020, they both moved home with their parents as the COVID-19 pandemic hit. During the bout of long distance surrounded by so much uncertainty, their relationship remained a constant source of comfort, laughter, and encouragement.
When Megan and Bob returned to New York, they had to adjust to a city still in lockdown. They spent more time cooking together, started running together, and discovered some of their favorite Central Park spots. On Megan’s last day of school in June 2021, Bob suggested celebrating with dinner at Tavern on the Green, a restaurant in Central Park. At Megan’s suggestion, they started walking there by way of the Central Park Reservoir. Bob proposed at Megan’s favorite spot along the reservoir path. The spot where you can see the Midtown skyline to the south and the El Dorado towers to the West. They ended that evening celebrating with family and friends New York Style with a surprise rooftop engagement party and boat round around Manhattan.
This seems like a plot to one of the great early 2000’s romantic comedies and I still think it should be made into a film! And as romantic as their love story is, their wedding day was one that I knew would be for the ages. It was a perfect mix of timeless, romantic, joy and happy tears. Congrats again to Mr. and Mrs. Klingenberger, as you approach your one year anniversary I hope that life has filled you with so many moments to remember!
