Downtown Elkhart Engagement Session | Destiny and Alex

Engagement

I have known Destiny for over half our lives now. We met in Junior High. We were in orchestra together, I went to church, youth group and small group with her and we shared a huge love of O-Town together. (Yes I said O-Town, the lesser known, lesser talented boy band) Don’t @ me. I can say that now because time has passed but I will always believe they were overall the most attractive boy band out there. I am looking at you Ashley Parker Angel. And while I could write an entire blog post about what it was like being a teen during Y2K and living in a boy band poster covered bedroom, this isn’t about that, it’s about Destiny and Alex! (I just can’t help but have nostalgia creep in because we’ve known each other since butterfly clips were first popular.

So yes, you could say that I was more than a little excited when she reached out to me telling me she was engaged and wanted me to photograph her wedding. I felt honored, thankful and just so incredibly happy for her. And the fact that I will get to go down South this December for their wedding is just another reason for my excitement.

Destiny and Alex drove up to South Bend over Thanksgiving weekend and we were able to squeeze in their engagement session. We went to downtown Elkhart and it was the perfect way to incorporate Alex’s love of trains and it was a little nod to Chattanooga! (Google Chattanooga Choo Choo, you will INSTANTLY want to photograph a session in the lobby! Any takers? I will be there in December!). Anyways, we had so much fun catching up, chatting a out their wedding plans and walking around in the cold. I just love these two and I can’t even wait for their wedding, it’s going to be beautiful!!
