Katie and Chris had the dreamiest July evening for their Golden Hour Engagement Photos at Notre Dame! With the campus in full summer color and that soft evening glow showing up at exactly the right time, their session had beautiful backdrops from beginning to end.
Katie and Chris are getting married next summer and will be celebrating with my associate photography team. Megan met up with them at Notre Dame for their engagement session, and these two were simply so much fun to photograph. They were relaxed, playful, and completely comfortable together, making it easy to capture so many natural moments throughout the evening.
They started around the University of Notre Dame before changing outfits and heading over to Saint Mary’s College for the second half of their session. Between the iconic architecture, lush July greenery, and gorgeous evening light, their gallery has such a classic summer feel.
Golden Hour Engagement Photos at Notre Dame
Summer evenings are one of my favorite times for engagement photos at Notre Dame. Starting a couple hours before sunset gives us plenty of daylight for the iconic campus locations before the light becomes softer and warmer later in the session.
Katie and Chris started in a classic blue-and-white look that photographed beautifully against Notre Dame’s warm stone architecture and summer greenery. Megan took them around campus, incorporating the Golden Dome, gardens, pathways, and some of the quieter corners along the way. And the golden hour light really showed off at the lakes, my favorite part of campus.
Saint Mary’s College Engagement Photos
For their second look, Katie and Chris headed over to Saint Mary’s College. Katie changed into a white dress that gave this part of their gallery a slightly more romantic, almost bridal feel.
Saint Mary’s brought even more variety with its beautiful architecture, bridge, pond, mature trees, and that incredible weeping willow. The softer evening light filtering through all of the greenery made some of these portraits instant favorites!
