I had the best time photographing Molly and Augie’s Saint Peter Catholic Church Wedding in Saint Charles, Missouri. It was truly an honor to witness. Some love stories have a quiet kind of providence woven through them. Moments that only make sense when you look back. For Molly and Augie, one of those moments happened before the wedding invitations were ever sent, before the dress was chosen, before any of it. When they were considering making Saint Charles, Missouri their home, the first place they walked into together was Saint Peter Catholic Church. On April 24th, 2026, they walked back in, this time as bride and groom.
That kind of full-circle moment is exactly what a Catholic wedding photographer lives for.

Getting Ready | Saint Charles, Missouri
The morning began with some light spring rain when we met at Molly and Augie’s recently purchased home. Molly and her bridesmaids along with Augie and his groomsmen were all gathered there to get ready. It was a relaxed, joyful morning and it was so sweet they didn’t mind getting ready together. Molly’s dress was absolutely stunning. It had intricate lace cap sleeves and an open lace back that photographed beautifully in window light. It was different than the dress she originally pictured for herself, but it was perfect for her.

The First Look
Before portraits began, Molly and Augie shared a private first look upstairs in their home. Augie was in awe of Molly standing in front of him and it had us all in tears. Hands over his face, completely undone. They embraced and he kissed her hands, in total adoration of his soon to be wife. It was one of those quiet, unhurried pieces of a wedding day that I treasure most.

Portraits | Saint Charles, Missouri
From the first look we moved into Blanchette Park, and April down in St. Charles, Missouri delivered. The gardens were lush and green with just the right amount of color in the foliage, and the soft overcast light was exactly what I would have ordered. Molly was radiant and the soft blue bridesmaids dresses popped beside all of the fresh green trees. It looked like an enchanted forest and I am so glad we did the majority of our photos at Blanchette Park.

From the park we made our way into the heart of downtown Saint Charles. With its brick sidewalks, gas lanterns, old storefronts, we all fell in love with the charm. I am so happy we decided to go downtown, because after seeing it, I would photograph there every single weekend if I could!

We ended the portrait session right where the story began, on the steps of Saint Peter Catholic Church. The dark wooden doors against the red brick exterior are genuinely stunning, and Molly’s cathedral veil catching the spring breeze made for some of my favorite frames from the entire day. We were just moments away from their sacrament.

The Wedding Mass
Saint Peter Catholic Church Wedding in Saint Charles Missouri
Just outside of Saint Louis, sits Saint Peter Catholic Church. It was truly gorgeous inside and out. From the white carved altar, the painted dome ceiling, to the stained glass windows, it is a genuinely beautiful church to photograph. And the spring florals added just the right amount of color against all that white and gold.
Molly and Augie were married during a full Nuptial Mass at St. Peter. My favorite moment was the two of them receiving Communion side by side. They were totally in the moment feeling the love that surrounded them. It was unhurried, reverent and extremely sacred.

The Reception
Grand Opera House | Saint Charles, Missouri
The evening celebration was held at the Grand Opera House on Main Street in Saint Charles — a historic building with exposed brick, original tin ceilings, and tall windows overlooking the street. The couple made it warm and personal. One quiet detail I noticed among the reception décor was a framed photograph of a young Marine with the words “A Father’s Love is Forever” a tender tribute to Augie’s father, who was there in Spirit. Augie served in the military as well, and that small memorial said everything about the family he comes from and the man he is.
The parent dances were full of real emotion, the groom’s embrace with his mother was long and close, and the father-daughter dance between Molly and her dad was all smiles and joy. The evening ended the way the best receptions do: a full dance floor, glow sticks, and a lot of laughter.

Molly & Augie | Married
When I think about what made this day so meaningful to photograph, it comes back to that opening detail — the church they walked into before they even knew it would become theirs. Saint Peter Catholic Church in Saint Charles is a beautiful place to get married, but what made it extraordinary on April 24th was the two people standing at the altar inside it.
Molly and Augie, it was such an honor to be there. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bravo!
