There’s something magical about spring engagement photos at Notre Dame. When the campus comes alive with blooming tulips and a soft breeze, everything just feels right. When Paige and Jake first reached out to me about photographing their Notre Dame wedding, I instantly knew I wanted to work with them. Our zoom call felt like catching up with an old friend rather than a meeting, and that natural connection translated so well into their engagement photos. And we couldn’t have picked a better spring evening on campus to hang out.

A Perfect Spring Evening on Campus
Spring engagement photos at Notre Dame showcase the campus at one of its most beautiful times. And we took advantage of that during our session. The tulips were in full bloom across campus, creating a colorful backdrop that perfectly complemented Paige’s soft blue dress. The golden hour light filtered through the leaves, creating the most perfect Notre Dame backdrop of Paige and Jake.
We started our session at the Basilica, where their wedding ceremony will take place this October

God Quad and the Famous Tulips
No spring engagement photos at Notre Dame would be complete without visiting God Quad during tulip season. Every year we wonder what color the tulips will bloom. This year it was a mix of white and yellow and the classic red ones at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue. So we had to stop there to capture the two of them in front of hundreds of red tulips. The sunlight made it even more magical. Paige and Jake’s natural chemistry made every click of the camera feel effortless. They were laughing, talking, and being completely themselves throughout the entire session.
And, the way Jake looks at Paige is truly something special. Watching Paige light up and come out of her shell around him was incredibly sweet to witness. Their connection is genuine and joyful, which translated beautifully into their portraits.

A Personal Connection to Notre Dame
Paige and Jake’s love story is a classic one – Saint Mary’s girl meets Notre Dame boy. Their Notre Dame roots run deep, which made this session even more meaningful when we ended at Arlotta Stadium, where Jake played lacrosse for the Fighting Irish.
Finishing their engagement photos on the field was such a fun nod to the memories they share together from their time on campus. We captured some of my favorite images of the session – playful moments with his lacrosse gear and sweet portraits with the Notre Dame scoreboard in the background.
Being able to capture each couple’s unique stories and connections to the University is what makes my job so fun and exciting. When couples have personal ties to Notre Dame – whether through athletics, academics, or family traditions – it adds such depth and meaning to their engagement photos.

Looking Forward to Their Notre Dame Wedding
After spending an evening getting to know Paige and Jake made me even more excited for their October wedding at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Dahnke Ballroom. The way they interact, full of laughter, genuine affection, and pure joy, promises to make their wedding day absolutely magical.
Engagement sessions like this remind me why I love being a Notre Dame wedding photographer. Witnessing couples in their element on this beautiful campus, creating memories that will last a lifetime, never gets old. See you in October P+J!
