A couple of weeks ago I spent some time photographing a winter engagement session at Notre Dame with Claudia and Brogan. Their love story is one full of thoughtfulness and adventure. Before proposing, Brogan secretly booked a summer wedding date at the historic Basilica of the Sacred Heart. He planned to propose after a hike that turned out to be an unexpected eleven miles! An exhausted but elated Claudia said yes, and Brogan asked if she happened to be free in July of 2026. Brogan’s careful planning is surely a glimpse into the life of surprises the couple is sure to have!
Winter Engagement Photos at Hayes-Healy
We began Claudia & Brogan’s winter engagement session at Notre Dame with a stop at Hayes-Healy. With the building’s arched stone windows, giant globe statement piece, and murals of maps adorning the walls, the center brought a grand, vintage charm to the shoot. Claudia popped against the atmosphere in a sleek white wrap dress, while Brogan looked at home in a navy suit.
Walsh Hall’s Chapel of the Visitation & The Main Building
After Hayes-Healy, we visited the Chapel of the Visitation at Walsh Hall (Claudia’s former dorm!). Nostalgia mingled with the promise of new adventures while the couple quietly contemplated and prayed together. Afterwards, we visited the Main Building where the couple gazed up at Notre Dame’s iconic Golden Dome.
Hesburgh Library
Winter Engagement Session Inside One of Notre Dame’s Most Historic Sites
Our final stop was at the campus’s Hesburgh Library, beautifully painted with the beloved “Touchdown Jesus” mural. Inside the quiet and impressive space, the couple cozied up among the stacks. We took in that magical old book smell as we marveled at just how many books there were and how beautiful some of the covers were. It really was a great nod to their time together spent studying on the floors of the Hesburgh Library. We wrapped the session up full of excitement to see each other in July for their wedding!
Summer Wedding at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Dahnke Ballroom
Claudia and Brogan’s wedding is planned for this summer at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Their reception will follow at the Dahnke Ballroom. With the ballroom’s unparalleled views of the stadium, the couple is checking off yet another iconic Notre Dame spot!
