This past May I spent an evening with Nicole and Ryan, capturing their summer engagement photos at Notre Dame. We strolled through the timeless beauty of the Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College. While getting to know them as a couple was a true delight, there was an added layer of significance for me. Nicole was previously my son’s preschool teacher! That shared history made these summer engagement photos all the more meaningful.

It’s not a secret that Notre Dame is one of my favorite places for engagement session. It offers such a wide variety of stunning backdrops. From the iconic Golden Dome to the quiet, tree-lined pathways and romantic lakes, every corner feels like a movie scene. Summer engagement photos at Notre Dame are especially magical. The golden evening light streaming through the trees and reflecting off the Basilica creates the most breathtaking glow. For couples like Nicole and Ryan, it’s a setting that feels both grand and intimate at the same time.
Saint Mary’s College
We also spent time wandering the nearby Saint Mary’s College grounds, where the peaceful gardens and stone architecture added another layer of charm to their portraits. Together, these two campuses tell such a beautiful story for couples who want their engagement photos to feel classic, elegant, and full of history.
Fall Wedding at Blue Heron
Nicole and Ryan are planning an autumn wedding at The Blue Heron later this year, and I can already picture the magic of that day. I feel so honored to document this season of their lives, starting with their summer engagement photos at Notre Dame, and I cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of their forever at what’s sure to be a breathtaking celebration of love. And I’ll admit, I’m especially looking forward to catching up with old friends from my children’s preschool. This is the first year in 3 years we haven’t had a little one to walk into the classroom.
