Betsy and Ryan | St. Joe Farm Wedding

Weddings

Well, even though this blog post is about 2 weeks late, I think I can say, I am officially caught up on blogging! This summer has been BUSY. BUSY. BUSY. And I have been happy that I had a good break to get caught up on editing. So today, I bring you Betsy and Ryan’s gorgeous wedding day at The Cathedral of Saint Matthew and St. Joe Farm. It also happened to be the hottest day of the year – the heat index reached up to 110 degrees and it just so happened to be the time that we were taking portraits out at the farm. It was HOT. But luckily, rain came, cooled down the day by about 20 degrees and even gave us an awesome rainbow. It was a perfect day, blending 2 families and a celebration of Betsy and Ryan!

Betsy met Ryan while looking for a landscaper to help maintain her property. Her dad and brother both recommended Ryan since he maintained the property at their business. She didn’t call him until a year later! When she finally did, Ryan came over to give her an estimate and as soon as she opened the door, he thought he was cute. They ended up talking for awhile and he came back the same day to start working on her property. Who knows if it was because it was really committed to making sure clients are happy or because he thought she was cute too, but I will bet it was both. Ryan hand delivered the invoice because he wanted to ask her on a date, but he didn’t! So Betsy, said a Hail Mary to help her know if this was something she should pursue and reach out to him herself. While she was doing that, a text rang through and it was Ryan, asking her out on a date!!

They continued to date, their daughters hit it off and they knew they wanted to get married. So when the time came for Ryan to ask Betsy to marry him, he decided to do so over Christmas. Their kids wouldn’t exchange gifts until Christmas night and Ryan asked Betsy to exchange gifts on Christmas Eve. So, he gave her a card in bed that had a sweet poem on it and told her to go find an ornament on the tree. She found a silver ball that she didn’t recognize and a shiny ring was inside. She took the ornament to him and he asked her to marry him! I love this sweet story and I loved working with this couple. So excited to share more of their day!
