Rachel and Luke got married on a beautiful April day at Blue Heron at Blackthorn, and it is one of those weddings I still think about when someone asks me why I love photographing in South Bend.
Blue Heron is such a lovely venue. It has this natural, airy quality that lends itself so well to the kind of images I love to make, and a spring wedding there just feels exactly right. There’s light everywhere, the grounds are coming back to life, and everything feels a little softer and more romantic than any other time of year.
Rachel and Luke were exactly the kind of couple who made the whole day easy and joyful. You can feel it in the photos. They were relaxed with each other, genuinely happy, and completely present for every moment of the day. That’s really all you need for great pictures.
I’m so glad these images are finally getting the space they deserve here on the blog. It was a really sweet day.
