Charlotte and Jamie’s Morris Estate wedding was everything a fall celebration should be: joyful, colorful, and bursting with energy. From the stunning white chapel ceremony to the epic dance party that lasted all night, their Southwest Michigan wedding at The Morris Estate in Niles, Michigan was pure magic. This wasn’t your typical muted fall palette; Charlotte embraced bold, vibrant colors that brought personality to every corner of their day.

The Love Story

Charlotte and Jamie’s journey to their Morris Estate wedding started online in the most modern way. Jamie was setting his dating profile to different cities while applying to grad schools, hoping to meet people and learn about the areas. After only three weeks of talking, Jamie asked Charlotte to fly out to San Diego to meet in person. With Jamie just a month away from deploying to Japan for eight months and restricted to a 90-mile radius, Charlotte took the leap.

Their first weekend together was filled with all their favorite things: art murals, bookstores, history, and amazing food. Then life took them in different directions: Charlotte to Colorado, Jamie to Japan. But distance didn’t stop them. They dated virtually through his entire eight-month deployment, and at Jamie’s homecoming in San Diego in May 2022, they made it official.

By July 2022, they were living together in Lexington, Kentucky, where Jamie started his PhD at the University of Kentucky. Fast forward to New Year’s Eve 2023 in French Lick, Indiana… Charlotte’s family was all dressed up for a party when Jamie got down on one knee under the dome at French Lick. It was a total surprise to everyone, especially Charlotte’s mom! And the best part? Jamie found a loophole in Charlotte’s “no engagements on holidays” rule, because technically, New Year’s Eve isn’t a holiday… New Year’s Day is.

A Ceremony at the Morris Estate Chapel

The Morris Estate Chapel is one of those venues that takes your breath away: a pristine white chapel nestled in the Michigan countryside. As guests gathered for Charlotte and Jamie’s ceremony, the simple elegance of the chapel provided the perfect backdrop. When Charlotte walked down the aisle, Jamie’s face lit up in a way that reminded everyone exactly why we were there.

The ceremony was intimate yet full of emotion, set against the gorgeous simplicity of the white wedding chapel. This is what makes a wedding at the Morris Estate so special: the venue’s beauty enhances your day without overwhelming the moment.

Vibrant, Colorful Wedding Details

If there’s one thing that defined this Morris Estate wedding, it was the COLOR. Cherry Road Florals created absolutely stunning arrangements that were lush, vibrant, and perfectly maximalist in the best way. The florals weren’t just decoration, they were a statement.

The gorgeous signage throughout the day (beautifully crafted by The Printed Event) added thoughtful touches that guided guests and elevated the aesthetic. From welcome signs to seating charts, every detail was intentionally designed. AAYS Rentals provided the perfect elements for the tented reception, creating a space that felt both elegant and inviting.

A Tented Reception Full of Life

As the sun began to set, guests made their way to the reception tent for an evening of celebration. The tent at The Morris Estate is spacious and beautifully appointed, providing the perfect setting for a wedding reception that flows from dinner to dancing.

The Morris Estate’s catering team provided incredible food that had guests raving, and the cake made by Macri’s was as beautiful as it was delicious. But what really made this Morris Estate wedding reception special was the energy!

Dancing the Night Away

This is where Charlotte and Jamie’s wedding went from beautiful to absolutely unforgettable. The Bluewater Kings Band brought an energy that had everyone on their feet from the first dance through the last song. Charlotte’s dad led the charge on the dance floor, and the bridal party matched that energy all night long.

There’s something magical about a live band at a wedding. The music fills the space differently, and guests can’t help but join in. Jimmy Shin Films captured it all on video, ensuring Charlotte and Jamie can relive not just what their wedding looked like, but what it felt like, and it felt like pure joy.
