Colleen and Thomas celebrated their marriage with a breathtaking ballroom wedding at the Embassy Suites in South Bend. The newlyweds wowed in their elegant wedding attire in classic black and white. In contrast, a vibrant palette of spring florals transformed this traditional ballroom wedding into a garden-inspired oasis. Following a heartfelt ceremony at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the couple danced the night away with their favorite people.
The Love Story
Colleen and Thomas met at the very start of their sophomore year at Notre Dame. As Compass Co-Leaders for the freshman class, the two became fast friends. After building a strong foundation over the next several years, they made things official midway through their senior year. Thomas proposed while on vacation with Colleen’s family on Lake Michigan (a yearly tradition!). In a beautiful gesture, he arranged for his own family to join so the couple could be surrounded by their loved ones as he popped the question.
Ballroom Wedding Details
The couple’s enchanting ballroom wedding glistened in shades of emerald green and gold. Their colorful floral centerpieces evoked the spring season that was bustling just beyond the walls of their ballroom wedding. Bridesmaids wore elegant sage green gowns, and many guests embraced the spring theme with bright, floral ensembles. The result was a celebration that felt less like a formal affair and more like an elevated, joy-filled garden party, right in the heart of South Bend.
