Spring Wedding at Gillespie Conference Center | Mr. and Mrs. Petsche

Weddings

Katie and Matt’s story started well before they officially met and started dating. They were both living in Indianapolis after college and when they matched on Bumble, they realized how much they had in common. They were both from Northern Indiana, they both went to Ball State for college, and they lived in the same dorm, one floor apart, at the same exact time. They just didn’t know each other! Katie and Matt firmly believe in God’s timing and knowing that they were around each other all those years in college, but didn’t meet until they were ready for their forever. When they went on their first date, they clicked from the start and it was clear they wanted to be around one another often. And pretty soon after getting to know each other better, they both knew they couldn’t picture their lives without the other.

Fast forward to winter 2020 and they were so excited to be dressing up to go out on a date. We all know what happened in 2020, I won’t go into it, but little things like getting out of the house was EVERYTHING. Matt planned for the two of them to go to Newfields Winterlights, which was an annual tradition. They went to dinner at Root and Bone and headed to winterlights. They walked around looking at all the twinkle lights and came to the section with the kissing arbor. It’s a main photo op for all the people walking around. The line was short so they decided to jump in line and wait to take their photo. Katie handed her phone to the person behind them to take their photo. And right there, under the arbor, Matt grabbed her hands and proposed. Everyone was so excited and someone shouted “turn around”, and when she did, she saw both of their families there. Matt purchased tickets for everyone to be there. He mapped out the proposal for them and marked where to hide to not be seen. So elated, they floated their way through the rest of the display, went back home, celebrated with champagne, appetizers and cake with their families. Truly perfect.

The love and respect they share for each other is evident. Their wedding day was full of family and friends who shared their love and respect. It was such a beautiful day to witness! Congratulations again Katie and Matt! Your day was truly perfect!
